Kamakura Ethical Lab will participate in the nationwide fair trade awareness campaign "Million Action Campaign" conducted by the certified NPO Fair Trade Label Japan (Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Chairman: Horiki Kazuo) and cooperate in fair trade awareness activities.
Fair trade is a "trade system" that aims to improve the lives and independence of vulnerable producers and workers in developing countries by continuously purchasing raw materials and products from developing countries at a fair price. This year's Million Action Campaign, which is being held for the fourth year, has the theme of "Climate Change x Personalization" and aims to achieve a record high of 2.5 million actions (1 million in the first year, 1.5 million in 2022, and 2.07 million in 2023) by purchasing fair trade products, posting on social media, participating in events, etc. In addition, there are plans to donate 1 yen per action to producers in developing countries using sponsorship money from companies and organizations, hold events at large commercial facilities in Tokyo and the Kansai region, and collaborate with students.
We support this international initiative and will actively engage in educational activities during the campaign to help raise awareness of the importance of fair trade.
